You definitely would have heard about the access points and Wifi signal boosters which increase the signal strength of your Wifi, but have you ever heard of a signal booster that also protects your home? Zmodo is a company that makes smart Internet of Things devices. Zmodo has come up with an excellent device which boosts your Wifi signal in your home and office, and also guards your home using the company’s ravishing services like sensors, smoke detectors, CO detectors, alarms, video cameras and much more.
Beam Alert is a small device which can be plugged in a normal AC wall outlet. The device extends the Wifi signal up to 650 feet. Beam Alert has a companion app for iOS and Android. You will need to download the app and sync it with the device otherwise the device won’t work.
The device takes about 3 minutes to setup. You can then connect your phones, laptops, PC and other device with it.
Now, the interesting part. How does Zmodo’s Wifi booster protect home? Well, you will need to have Zmodo’s sensors and Internet of Things devices to pair them with the Beam. For example, a user was sent two sensors used for detecting opening and closing of the doors. Once the sensors are synced with the app, the app will send you a notification or a text message every time the door opens or closes.
You can add or remove the sensors and connect with toe Zmodo Beam using the app. The app lies at the center of the Zmodo IoT ecosystem. You can also turn the sensors off and on using the app.
Zmodo Beam Alert sometimes takes ages to connect and sync. Other than that, the device just works fine. Its app also has a useful and good UI.
Beam Alert acts as a smart home hub. You can add as many devices for smart home as you want.
Zmodo Beam also has an LED night light. The light has three color options. The light also turns on automatically when someone passes by it. This light is enough to creep out an intruder in your home.
The device is based on the plug and play model, and can be attached to a 3 prong wall socket (90-240VAC).
Zmodo Beam Alert costs around $50.
